What Is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a natural process in which your mind is more receptive to positive suggestion, insight, and a releasing of negative feelings. It's your mind's ability to rapidly integrate new skills, strategies and strengths. Hypnosis is also defined as being the bypassing of the critical element of your mind. It's that automatic reaction - in spite of those things you might already be saying to yourself. Believe it or not, it is something that we all do practically every day of our lives!

People’s perceptions/beliefs are their reality. They are how each of us experiences the world “though our own filters”. Unfortunately, not all of our perceptions/beliefs are positive or good for us. At Mindwell Hypnosis, I help people to reach their goals by making positive changes to their perceptions/belief systems. The resulting feeling of empowerment and confidence is amazing and wonderful!

Should I talk to my doctor about this?

Always remember that hypnotherapy is not a substitute for medical treatment. However, I welcome doctor referrals because hypnosis can be an amazing support for your doctor’s treatment. For example, hypnosis can be used to bring down the anxiety and stress that many people experience just before surgery. Going into a medical procedure calm, relaxed, and confident in the positive outcome will help in speeding up the recovery in post-surgery.

In 1958, the American Medical Association approved the teaching of hypnosis in medical schools and post-graduate curriculum. Because of its proven results, hypnotherapy is accepted now, more than ever, by the medical community than at any other time in history.

How Does It Feel to Be Hypnotized?

Different people experience my suggestions in different ways. They may feel a heavy sinking in the chair, or maybe a light floaty feeling, or, they may experience just sitting in the chair and listening to me. You may experience some, or all of the above feelings to varying degrees. It is perfectly ok for you to experience hypnosis anyway that is useful to you.

When I Am "Under" Will I Be Asleep?

No, you are NEVER "under". You will be focused and very aware of everything that is happening and being said the entire time. You will remember as much as you would normally remember from any normal conversation. Your conscious mind is active and alert throughout the entire session, however, it is to your subconscious mind that I am relaying all the positive reinforcement to in order to help you achieve your goals.

How Do I Know That I Will "Wake up" From Hypnosis?

Remember – you are never asleep, and you are always in control. You can come out of the hypnotic state any time you choose.

Will I Remember Everything Afterwards?

As I mentioned earlier, you will remember as much as you would remember from any normal conversation. Generally, most people remember everything the therapist says during their hypnosis session. However, it is not uncommon for your conscious mind to drift in and out of different levels of awareness depending on how deeply relaxed you are. Even if your conscious mind is unable to remember everything that was said, your subconscious mind remembers everything, which is what really matters.

Will I Give up Any Secrets While I Am Hypnotized?

No, you won't say or do anything you don't want to. You are always in control. If you are given suggestions that you don't morally agree with, you will reject the suggestions or simply just come out of hypnosis.

Are There Any Negative Side Effects From Hypnosis?

That is the cool thing about hypnosis. The only side effects are the beneficial ones of feeling more relaxed afterward and feeling more positive about whatever it was you sought hypnotherapy for. As mentioned earlier, hypnosis is a perfectly natural state that we enter several times a day.

Can I Be Hypnotized Against My Will?

No, hypnosis is only achieved through cooperation between you and your therapist. It is a team effort. I can only show you the way. You choose if you want to go there or not.

How Many Sessions Will I Need?

There is no simple answer to that question. Relative to the time that my clients have struggled with the presenting issues - rapid change is very possible with hypnosis. Though keep in mind that hypnosis is a process. Most of my clients are scheduled for a brief series of sessions. My goal is to provide you with the most effective hypnotic process in the most efficient use of your time. My process allows for an effective series of sessions with continued reinforcement, self hypnosis training, and customization to your unique set of needs. Most people will begin to experience benefits from the very first session.

My goal is to create "awesome fans" that have taken back control of their lives.  Not clients with a life long dependency.

Will My Health Insurance Cover My Sessions?

Many employers offer a flexible spending account, which allows you to set aside pretax dollars each pay period to help cover prescription medication and other health-related expenses that are often not covered by traditional health insurance. Therefore, most of our clients pay out-of-pocket for their hypnotherapy treatment and then submit their receipt for reimbursement from their flexible spending account.

Some healthcare plans may require you to also submit a letter from your physician before you are reimbursed. I suggest that you check with your health care provider or employer if you plan to seek reimbursement from your flexible spending account.

What Should I Expect?

After our strategy session, I will send you an email to confirm the appointment and a reminder a few days before. Every session always begins with a dialogue and ends with hypnosis. You will always go home having learned something new.

  3. Do you know who you will be working with?

So you find a nice professional website with smiling professional faces.  After a brief phone consultation you      are excited to get started - only to find out after you show up, that you will not be working with the person        you spoke to.... that there isn't even a biography or photo of that person or their service on the website you      found.  Yikes!

I am Donna Jones, and we will work together to create positive and powerful changes in your life.  My services    are not cheap, but they are not expensive either, when compared to the value of the change that you are so      ready to create.

  4.  Does the hypnotist offer a consultation?        I DO!  WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?
